Studying abroad can cost you an arm and a leg. You have to keep in account the cost of accomodation, the cost of living and the tuition fee of your host university. So we've created this list to compare these three important components (and for your Saturday nights, the average beerprice as well!)


1. ItalyItaly is the most visited country by international students and tourists in general. It’s not only affordable to live, but seeing the abundant touristic attractions is fairly cheap as well. Home to the oldest university in Europe, students in Italy can enroll in a variety of interesting degrees and courses and benefit from accessible tuition fees and low living costs.

  • Average tuition fees in Italy: 850 to 1000 EUR/year at public universities.
  • Overall living costs in big cities (Rome, Florence, Milan): 1,000 to 1,500 EUR/month.
  • Overall living costs in student cities (Pisa, Padua, Turin): 750 EUR/month maximum

2. Spain

4. France
